Shield by U.S. Pave™
We measure every place people walk.
Shield is U.S. Pave's scan-and-repair program for shopping centers and residential communities. A drone flies the open pavement, a ground scanner rolls the walks under the roofs, and every condition over the threshold is measured, priced and put in front of you to decide.

How Shield works
Scan, report, decide, repair, and scan again
Scan
A drone scans the open areas from above, and we scan the walks on the ground. Every photo is pinned to its spot on the map.
Report
Every condition over the threshold is photographed, measured, graded and priced. A technician confirms each one.
You decide
For each item, in writing: fix it, block it off until it's fixed, or leave it alone. Nothing happens without your OK.
We repair
U.S. Pave does the repairs you order, at member prices, with a warranty on our own work.
Scan again
The next scan checks the repairs and catches what moved. Each spot is compared scan to scan.

Why it matters
Trips and falls start on the walk
Florida lawsuits over parking lots, sidewalks and community walkways begin with small things: a lifted joint, a gutter lip at a curb ramp, an old sign-post hole between wheel stops, a low spot that holds water.
Shield measures those edges every scan and keeps a dated record of what was found, what was decided and what was fixed.

Built on our own records
Every condition we've found since 2012. We call it Kyle.
U.S. Pave's records go back to 2012: more than 86,000 field photos of lifted joints, broken and damaged pavement and everything else we've found on lots and walks, each one catalogued in Kyle, our in-house AI.
We've studied more than 800 Florida lawsuits against shopping centers, HOAs, condominiums and other property owners and turned them into the list of conditions every scan looks for. You hear about a condition first, from us, with a price to fix it.

Built by U.S. Pave
Our own scanning system
Shield runs on scanning equipment and software we designed, built and programmed ourselves. A drone scans the open pavement from above, and we scan the walks, crossings and covered walkways on the ground. Everything comes together in one measured 3-D model of the property.
- Proprietary. Our equipment, our software and our data. You can't buy Shield from anyone else.
- Programmed with what we know. Every scan is read against Kyle, U.S. Pave's record of every condition we've found since 2012, and the conditions behind the Florida lawsuits we've studied.
- Sharper with every scan. Each scan, measurement and repair goes back into the system.
- Checked by a person. Every condition over the threshold is confirmed by a technician before it's priced.

On the ground
Our ground scanner covers the walks, crossings, curb ramps and covered walkways the drone can't see.

From above
Our drone rig scans the open pavement in tight lines, with every photo pinned to its spot on the map.
