Bok Tower Gardens

Located in Lake Wales, Florida, this 250-acre retreat is a wonderful way to help Mom escape from her daily surroundings and transport her to a place as beautiful as she could imagine. You will find the meditative garden and bird sanctuary, which was created by Edward Bok in the 1920s, 298 feet above sea level at the top of Iron Mountain, one of the highest places in peninsular Florida. Bok Tower Gardens is a great place to go and includes interesting spots such as the Singing Tower. Walk through Olmsted Gardens, created by famed landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted Jr., and rest in one of the gorgeous, secluded locations as you take in the picturesque views.

See the gopher tortoise and the eastern indigo snake’s natural habitat. Because the garden is a designated site on the Great Florida Birding Trail, birding moms may catch a glimpse of one of the 126 species of birds that call the grounds home.
