U.S. Pave Launches Pave It Forward™: $231,000 in Donated Parking Lot Work for Broward County Schools

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — September 22, 2026

U.S. Pave has put a name, a sign and a web page on something it has been doing quietly for six years: fixing Broward County school parking lots for free.

The program is called Pave It Forward™, and the numbers behind it are now public. Since 2020, U.S. Pave has donated $231,000 in paving work, scholarships and athletic support to six Broward County campuses — including the School Board’s own headquarters — without billing the district a dollar. Every job was donated in full: labor, materials, equipment and time.

Why a paving company gives away parking lots

Founder and CEO Nick Small is a Hollywood Hills High School graduate. When his oldest son started at the same school and Nick pulled into the same lot he had parked in as a student, he saw the potholes right away — and sent a crew.

“We pave a lot of big-box and big commercial places. We even did the Super Bowl and F1 racing,” Small said. “It’s hard taking money from schools.”

Schools rarely have money left over for the parking lot, so the parking lot waits. Pave It Forward™ is U.S. Pave’s answer: three to four nonprofit parking lots a year — schools first — repaired, sealcoated, striped and signed, in partnership with the Broward Education Foundation, where U.S. Pave is a Friends of the Foundation partner.

Six campuses, one lot at a time

• K.C. Wright Administration Center, Fort Lauderdale — the district’s downtown headquarters. Two full sealcoat-and-stripe cycles, garage striping, and the demolition of an abandoned guard-entrance island, paved through to match the lot. $84,000.
• Sunshine Elementary, Miramar — the largest single gift to date. Tree roots had lifted the faculty row down to bare dirt; U.S. Pave dug out the roots, rebuilt the base, repaired every failed area, then sealed and re-striped the whole lot on a Saturday so it was open Monday. $38,000.
• McArthur High School, Hollywood — two new concrete sidewalks to the stands in 2025, and a full sealcoat and re-stripe of the front lot ahead of the Mustangs’ ESPN-televised opener in August 2026. $34,000.
• Hollywood Hills High School, Hollywood — three rounds of asphalt repair, field striping, car stops, and two $2,000 U.S. Pave scholarships to graduating seniors. $31,300.
• Western High School, Davie — asphalt repairs, two seasons of field striping and booster-club support. $18,800.
• South Plantation High School, Plantation — engraved commemorative bricks for the Environmental Science & Everglades Restoration Magnet, going in October 17, 2026. $4,000.

Every lot gets a sign — and a tire count

Each completed lot now carries a Pave It Forward™ sign: “This parking lot is proudly maintained by U.S. Pave — through our Pave It Forward™ program in partnership with Broward Education Foundation. Improving Broward County Schools one lot at a time.”

Next to it stands a second sign. The sealcoat on these lots is TreadCoat™, the recycled-tire-rubber sealer developed by U.S. Pave, and the sign says exactly how many tires went into the pavement. K.C. Wright averages 67 per seal; McArthur took 132. As of October 2026, 266 tires have been recycled into Broward school lots — and the number rises with every job.
